Unit 7

Simple Present

You have already learned the personal pronouns. Now let’s build the Simple Present of a verb. Let’s take the verb “to play”

I play
You play
He plays
She plays
It plays
We play
You play
They play

Remember: “He, she, it – the ‘s’ must fit”

Here are some examples:

I play football every weekend.
You often play the piano.
But: He plays volleyball every weekend.
She often plays the guitar.

Smile Exercise: Build some simple present sentences with the verbs ‘to come’, ‘to go’, ‘to drink’, ‘to get’, ‘to drive’, ‘to know’, ‘to say’, ‘to run’.

In Unit 8 you are going to learn how to ask questions in the Present Simple.

Hi swathi,

Please don't use "u" and "your" in written English. And be careful with how you use your letters - I'm sure you don't want to SHOUT!

Again, your sentences are fine. 'She drives a scooter' or 'she drives scooters', and 'he runs fast' is what you should correct. Usually you ad 'ly' when you use an adjective, but 'fast' is one of a few exceptions.

Take care,

Ralf
