"able" versus "capable"

Does the adjective "able" come from the word "ability" and the adjective "capable" come from both nouns "capacity" and "capability"?

So can I say:

The meaning of "able" is that of "ability" and the meanings of "capable" is those of " capacity" and "capability"?

"capable" also comes from "capacity ", I think so.
