It is humid today versus It is close today

Is there any difference between:

"It is humid today." and "It is close today."

Hi Tom,

To me humid puts the emphasis on the dampness in the air as well as the sense of being hot and stuffy. Close means that it's hot and stuffy and damp- not much sense of air around you.

In brief they both refer to the same kind of atmosphere.
