Dear teachers,

I got confused about the way how to use "another " and "other" properly. Confused

"I have two cars. One is white, and the other is red."

Is this correct? If I want to use "another " in this sentence, can I make it as follows?

I have two cars.
One is white, and another is red.
One is white, and another one is red.
(Shouldn't I put "the" in front of another, should I?)

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Dear Kumi, So you have two cars - that's very good Wink
One is probably a Mercedes and the other a Chrysler?

I have another (different) make, a French one.

Here is another (one more) example:

- This pen doesn't work. Could you give me another one (another pen/a differen pen) please?

No car... #4 (permalink) Wed Dec 10, 2003 22:38 pm   No car...

Hi Cowboy, 'at all' is usually used in connection with verbs such as in 'I don't like cars at all' or 'This scarf doesn't suit you at all.'

As for having cars - I guess you can either have one or you can't.
