Hi O'Dolly

Could you give us the whole sentence that you found this expression in?
An explanation really isn't possible without more context.

Hi,

The idea of go behind in a very general sense could mean to find the underlying reason for something. The expression: go behind the headlines (of a newspaper) suggests for example that you want to find out more about a story rather than the simple outline. Your expression go behind the conclusion suggests you are trying to find out what happened before that conclusion was reached but as Amy has suggested, if you want a full explanation, we need to know the context in which this phrase was used.
