Hi Guys,

Just a quick question...
Which one of these four combinations are correct and why? Or is there any difference between them...

1. "I am looking forward to hearing from you at the earliest."
2. "I look forward to hear from you at the earliest."
3. "I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest."
4. "I am looking forward to hear from you at the earliest."

I went through the lessons but did not get my answer.f
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Only 1 and 3 sentences seem natural, correct to me Wink

For additional information have a look at:
"look forward to"

Hi,

The standard form after 'look forward to' is usually the 'ing' construction as in: I look forward to seeing/hearing from/meeting/ you again. and not the infinitive.
