Is there any period required before "it"?? Don't you think "It rains a lot" is a sudden end to the sentence? How about adding "there" at the end of the sentence? Just thinking aloud!

Hi Tom,
There was a mistake in the format of this question. It's supposed to read "The weather on the coast is really wet and cloudy - it rains a lot!" The dash that was supposed to be there is missing so it makes the sentence look like there's a clause that doesn't belong there.
I've fixed that mistake now and in the future, that will not happen again because we are aware of the format problem.
I'm sorry about any confusion.
