Hi

How does the following sentence sounds to you? Do you find it grammatically correct and natural?

It is the fourth consecutive year that we have been including and removing this topic from the syllabus!

The sentence sounds fine to me, Tom. What do you think is wrong with it?

Thanks, Conchita...

I was just writing a report on one of the topics that we have been fidgeting with a little too much. Just decided to make sure that at least nothing was wrong in my report! Laughing Very Happy

Hi Tom

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to use the present perfect continuous rather than the present perfect simple?

Dear Amy

In fact, the removing and including of the topic has been too "continuous" Very Happy ...and it is a fact! We literary received 6 emails in the past 4 years stating that the directors have finally included the topic and finally removed the topic from the syllabus of Jr. VI.

By the way, does it sound odd to you?

No, Tom, it doesn't sound odd. The continuous form tends to add a feeling of duration. Using the simple form would look at each of the four consecutive instances more as complete events. You can use either form here. I just wanted to hear your reason. Wink
