I was always embarrassed by Valentine's Day, so I only went with girls who were also embarrassed by Valentine's Day or who could tolerate the fact that I don't like romantic rituals.
In American elementary schools, the little kids give Valentine cards to everyone in the class.
In American high schools, every day is Valentine's Day. |

Glad to meet you, Nina Zara!
Interesting tradition. However, in my neck of the woods( like in a vast majority of countries) it’s much more typical when a man shows initiative. |

Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm in my lab right now. Just finished distributing chocolates to all my friends(22 boys and 5 profs) except one received the real valentine chocolate and he was all smiles!I guess the secret is opened now |

I do not celebrate St. Valentine's day. It's a nice tradition but I'm disgusted with lovers kissing in a public place and all the hear-shaped elements everywhere- it's more like commercialization rather than true love that should be proved everyday. back to the topic, in high school there was sth like a Valentine's Day Post Office where u could send a love letter to someone from your school :] _________________ Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes. I have a shoebox --well it's in my room in the house where I grew up -- with a bunch of little Valentine's cards. Many a female childhood friend and "girlfriend" gave me those, and they're indispensable as fuel for the fire of nostalgia.
This year the woman and I went to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, picked up a 12-pack of beer and a DVD, and enjoyed both at home. We ate steak and her great fried potatoes (with onions) for dinner. That woman KNOWS how to chop and fry a potato. Yum.
And as usual -- and given the beer consumed -- I made an off-hand remark that pissed her off, so I spent the night in my room... reading.

"The woman", Tom? You remind me of "The one" (President Barack Obama, or as John McCain referred to him, "That one") |

Relax, Michauek. I am sure once you are an entrepreneur yourself, you will see things differently.

I also remember my school had the same tradition. But we get to send flowers and announce it on the school radio. So cool and romantic, for a 15-year-old, I guess. |

...just a little caveman-speak, Nina.
As for "that one", in the end we're likely going to find out that only you can make your life better... not Big Brother. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |
