I have some doubt regarding the admissions to US universities

hello,

I am a newcomer to this site and i have some doubt regarding the admissions to US universities.
if i write the GRE exam in 2007 will i be able to get admitted into a university in the same year or do i have to wait one more year for that.
and i also dont know about this fall,spring etc semesters.
it would be great if anyone could brief me on that.

If you take the GRE in fall 2007, you can still apply for programs that start the following fall. Deadlines are in the winter time, and are earlier for international students than U.S. students applying to U.S. schools. I'm not sure about deadlines for spring semester admissions, although I'd guess they'd be early in summer the year before. Most programs only have decent financial aid for the first year, esp for scholarships and assistanceships, if you're starting in the fall.

You should do some searches online for details about applying to grad school. There are some great sites like usnews.com and review.com, although most of the good stuff on usnews.com isn't free. Review.com is totally free, and it has a lot of info on the process. See if you can get some books at the library or bookstore. The more you know, the better your chances are.

i checked out usnews.com
for many universities like stanford etc... it say N/A for the fall 2007 application deadline.
what does it mean ?? is there no deadline ??
