let that one sink in for a few minutes

I also found the sentence odd. Quite confusing at first glance...I had to let that one sink in for a few minutes before I replied!

From dictionary :

sink into sth (BODY) phrasal verbto slowly move your body into a sitting or lying position, in a relaxed or tired way:

But I can't understand what this means in the above sentence.

Could you explain it?

Hi,

It has the two meanings. If you say: Let that sink in - it means let me understand that slowly. Sink into a chair suggests you ease yourself into a chair, specially when you are tired, and then relax as you finally sit dowen.
