2. You have to wait for about 20 minutes since the last request to the application

(Or could you offer your own version if none of those is right)

I would replace 'since' with 'after'.

I prefer 'wait about 20 minutes', but you can also add 'for'.
You might also say 'You have to allow 20 minutes after the last request'.
