He came rushing over when I fell.

Could anyone explain or rephrase to the the sentence? [I am particularly confused over the meaning of "rushing over" here]

Hi LE

In your sentence 'rush over' indicates that 1) he came to you very quickly (rush) and 2) there was space between you and him that he had to cross (over) in order to reach you.
