Hi

I would like to discuss the spreading breast cancer with you? In my country many women are being diagnosed with it--and generally there is no cure. What about the USA and UK? Are the doctors able to remove the lump without performing mastectomy? Do women there also go through chemotherapy? I'd say that mastectomy would be another death for a woman--at least psychological.

It's increased my curiosity to know why women have it. To be more careful, women up to 40 years old should go to doctors for check-up (mammography). I know a few women who died of breast cancer. That's because they were too late to go to see a doctor. There are stages of development of the breast cancer and in some stage it's almost too late to be helped.

This is sad...but mastetomy is inevitable if it can sustain the patient's life, isn't it?

I don't know now if there's a cure for the breast cancer.

I'm not sure, but the women I know did go through mastectomy at last but they still died. They did go through treatment of chemical substances but ....
Anyway, according to my reading, it can be caused by the kind of diet people eat...animal fat is a danger for women who eat a lot of it. And another cause is from the genes.

Tom, if the disease is detected at the early stage of development, a woman can avoid surgical operation. A vivid example is Kyle Minogue.

I agree, it's a trauma, especially for young people, but if it's the only way to extend life expectancy, it should be done without delay.

Surely, there are many factors that can cause it. In my opinion, inherited predisposition plays a 'significant' role.

Hi Tom

Yes, breast cancer is certainly a horror, however if it is detected early, a woman's chances for survival are pretty good, and it may also be possible to avoid mastectomy.

I know a woman who is just such a survivor. Interestingly enough, she swears that if it weren't for her cat, she might not have been so lucky. Apparently her cat suddenly and inexplicably began acting very strangely with her, and it was ultimately something the cat did that helped her to locate a tiny lump. This woman also firmly believes that not only early diagnosis but also an extremely positive attitude ("I will beat this! I am a survivor!") is critically important for survival.

My sister told me that one woman in a village she was visiting died because the husband refused to let her have mastectomy. I don't know how she dealt with it, if I were her, I think people would have to restrain me from killing that bastard. I have to stop here before I start raving.

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that has developed from cells of the breast. The disease occurs primarily in women but occasionally occurs in men. Many people do not realize that men have breast tissue and that they can develop breast cancer.
