Hi

Would you say that the following sounds OK to you—the early mornings stands here for many mornings.

Quote:
The many early mornings in London went without breakfast.

The speaker is talking about his miserable stay in London.

Hi,

I would remove 'the' and add 'he'.

Or, you could also say, 'Many an early morning...'. Somehow, though, the adjective 'early' bothers me. It sounds as if he might still have breakfast later in the morning (but that's only my personal opinion).

.
I agree with you, Conchita. If Tom gave us a bit more context, however, that might make a difference.

Thank you Amy and Conchita

The speaker came to London but was too poor to afford the three meals. He had to skip breakfast for two months. Many years later he said:

Quote:
The many early mornings in London went without breakfast.

Can you help me say it in a better way?
