What about your listening habits -- how much of your daily 'media intake' is in English? I'm asking these questions so I can better assist you with your TOEFL preparation.

Hello sir,

I am living in INDIA and studying in 10th grade. I want to go to U.S.A. and study in a good university. My relatives who live in USA suggest that I should prepare for SAT and I am preparing for it too.

I read an English newspaper daily. I have purchased a Barron book and read a page everyday.

In India, we don't get essays for practise rather we got to write articles.

Hi guptapurv,

I take it that you are asking for advice on how you should compose your essay. First, you should read the statement given carefully. What opinion is voiced? Then consider what your position is. Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Why?

As the essay is supposed to be around 250 words, I think four paragraphs will be sufficient. The first paragraph could be a brief introduction; in the second and third paragraphs you would then present two different main ideas together with relevant supporting ideas. You are also expected to write a concluding paragraph for clarity and effect.
