I now see that the strange-sounding clause "if the weather is fine" that I hear from Germans and some others is evidently taught in some textbooks. No wonder so many of them say it. |

. The original sentence suggests that the person saying it does not have a clothes dryer. I know from experience that freshly washed laundry dries best outside when it's sunny. So, I'm pretty sure the only thing I'd say is this:
"If it's sunny, I'll wash my clothes. Otherwise I won't." . |

No, as you can see under my forum nick, I live in neither Queensland (Australia) nor Florida (USA).
I don't live in New Mexico or South Dakota, either.
When I lived in Germany, I didn't have a dryer. I generally didn't bother hanging wet laundry outside unless it was at least partly sunny. . |
