an agreeable offer?

Please take a look at the following question:

Realco made ..... offer for the purchase of the Wincorp property.

a) a grateful
b) a generous
c) an agreeable
d) an equivalent

I understand that "a generous offer" is the best choice here but what exactly is wrong with "an agreeable offer" and "an equivalent offer"?

Hi Torsten,

To me 'agreeable' suggests 'pleasant and affable' referring, I would have thought, more to people or personalities. If the idea is that the offer was agreed or agreed upon, then I would choose 'acceptable'.

Both "a generous offer" and "an equivalent offer" are correct. If there's no context, there's no way to tell which one needs to be used.
