Hi,

'On the point of' has the same sense as 'about to' as in:

I was on the point of phoning you (about to phone you) when you knocked on my front door.

Hi, Alan

In other words, on the point of means exactly the same as on the verge of/on the brink of in this sentence, right?

Thank you in advance.
