This is a question for those of you who speak English as a second language. How much time do you spend on forums where users communicate in your native language?

I attend such forums when the necessity arises to have recourse to or avail myself of the information given. But I can’t tell I am a frequent member, rather occasional as a handful of these forums don’t commend itself to me because of some tiny disadvantages I cannot but pay heed to. I give preferences mostly to English forums.

Hia...

When I was studying in Malaysia, I visited Indonesian websites frequently (originally I came from Indonesia), from reading newspapers, searching informations, and posting forums. I barely visited English websites, it might cause by my limitation ability in English.

However, I changed that habit as I experienced difficulty to express my option in English. I learned that I need to practice English more often. English websites are my priority now. I will visited the Indonesian forums only if I can not find the information in English website.

Hello Herry,

When you were in Malaysia, how did you communicate with Malaysians? We both know that our language is not that different, well, we might have different opinion on this, but if you agree with me, it means that you have two choices back then, either to communicate in Malay/Indonesian or English. Which was it?

I do the same as Pamela, I attend our Arabic forums searching for information. I usually spend little time , but in your forum I spend hours because it is very useful I get useful knowledge here, I use English as the mean of communication rather than Arabic which will help in improving my English lg and what I like and apreciate most is the quick and meaningful replys of you Mr Torsten and Mr Alan , so thank you very much for giving us these services and supplying us with this great site, it's very helpful.

I'd be careful of the use of "fora" here, friend. Alan and a few others don't like it.
