Are you familiar with the word 'dreck'?

I've just come across the phrase 'no wading through endless dreck find a few morsels of thoughtful, stimulating discourse'. How often do you use the word 'dreck'?

I don't use it, but I understand it. It's the same thing with "schlep". I do, however, often use "schmutz", "sprudel" and "schnippling", although not always in their original German meanings. In my English I also have some German words that are so old that Germans don't recognize them anymore.
