c. for - to
d. for - for
=> my answer: C

2/ Your personality is important ... the success of your work
a. for

Hi,

I would choose as follows:

1 a 2 a

This is a difficult question - choosing between 'to' and 'for'. Let me try to explain but please bear in mind that what I say is of a very general nature. Take these two:

This is a letter to you (This is a direct link- it is addressed to you)

This is a letter for you (This is an indirect link - it is intended for you)

Having said that, I have to admit that in some cases either is possible but usually the 'directness' or 'indirectness' will be the deciding factor.

Well, I'll be honest and tell you that I chose "a, a" too, when I looked through the test. Smile

But I still don't understand the second sentence very clearly
