'Wee' means 'small', but the idiom is 'the wee hours', which means very late (the 'small' hours are 1 am, 2 am, 3 am)

Yes, or 'the wee hours' means very early ( 1 am, 2 am, 3 am). it depends on when or if you went to bed.

Hi Loerken

You might want to note that it is "the wee hours" as was previously mentioned with the article "the". And the idiom is used mostly in Scottish English.

You can use wee, as in "wee lassie" for small girl or even girlfriend as a term of endearment.

I would be interested to know how common itīs usage is in America?
