Hi again yoki.

It's pretty good to know that you work with marketing because i'm actually studying Business Administration at the 4º grade or ending the first half of this course. Marketing is one of my favorite fields like Economics and so on.
Your brief introduction makes me note and i presume that you understand about the japanese language too because you're working at a japanese company, i've been studying japanese for at least 4 years but without any support and this language is too hard for the western people like me to get all the ideograms and memorize them. I've used a lot one very good program named Kanjigold, and reached almost my first thousand symbols but, unfortunatelly this is only one important part and without a grammar and conversational skills altogether my advance couldn't be perceived well. This results on a strength of will lowered so i left the japanese learning for the last two years with no study, would be great to come back and finish this great project of mine mainly because i don't like to give up anything. Maybe you have some hints that could help me to improve the results of learning japanese, would be awesome take it back again.
There is a great support here at english-test.net to improve your english but i can advise you in some ways:

° Improve your vacabulary by listing a bunch of at least 600 hundred new words, and study them a lot.

° Watching movies helps but will be very much more effective if you download some video courses related with your work and learn about the terms used on your job, it should make a difference helping your confidence and to perceive the english skills growing as well.

° I have some english video courses that you could use and in some ways i could help to you get this videos because learning the rules of grammar helps to keep you in natural way to speak.

Well, we'll keep contact here and if you are interested probably will make a lot of success on this journey.

Hope to see ya very soon buddie.

Regards.

Hey Brazileiros, fellow ESL teachers, and all you English wordbuffs,

My names Rob and I'm a native New Zealander resident in Brazil currently teaching English for Business here in Rio de Janeiro. I'm trying to develop my own materials for teaching, and course writing for the specific needs of students in the workplace. I'm also fascinated with the ongoing debate about ESL Teaching Methodologies. Being a student of Brazilian Portuguese has been a wonderful journey for me. Especially as I reflect on how I've learnt to speak Portuguese and how it has influenced my evolution as an English teacher.

I think, anything to do with words is fun and I often read the dictionary for relaxation hoping to discover new words and palavras (not to be confused with palaver) especially cool sounding words, like "litotes" which I've recently discovered. I love the phonetic alphabet too, and teach it too all my students. The dictionary is after all an English students best friend, always there to help, advise and nurture. I look forward to being a part of this community and contributing my thoughts where I can.

Obrigado, boa sorte e abraco, Rob.

Well, be welcome at this thread and if i could say in everyones name of this forum i'm sure that everyone will give you a big fat.... "Be very welcome here fellow"!!!!

Hi everyone.
This thread is becoming much more interesting with the time, i truly hope that more and more people join this with us and reach our common objetive, learn english and prepare to certification tests. My intent is take the GMAT on the final of my graduation and many other people have objectives like me, so why not try to help each other and make this trip a little more....i would say easy but i prefer the word "nice", together we can have a nice trip filling up our minds with new experiences, experiences of each other. Share is the better way to be more strong and confident, like this we can make the difference in this world.
I'm ready to share GMAT material with any who is truly interested on learn, not just collecting material without no sense. Just PM me to start these discussions, i'll want in exchange anything you think that could be useful to take the GMAT test so let's talk about it.

Heya Yoki.

My japanese is not that good like you think, like i said before i left the japanese studies about two years ago and my skills will be useful only on translating some "kanji" ( i still hope to be good on it ). I need to train a lot the conversation and grammar to make some difference. Just think that would be a good idea to talk about it with you because you said you are working on a japanese company. There's no problem, we can let this for the future and concentrate all of our efforts on english learning.

Soo desu ne, nihongo wa motto muzukashi desu. Rolling Eyes

Regards.
