'ZZZZ' is often used by a figure in a comic magazine to show that person is sleeping.

I think Alan might have dozed off at the end of that sentence. Mr. Green
"ZZZZ" is used in comics and illustrations to suggest the type of sound people often make when they're asleep: snoring.
