. Do you mean simply the sounds of those 4 letters when their names are said? If you mean their sounds within words, there is no unequivocal answer to your question. The English alphabet does not consistently reflect English sounds. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Hello Asmaa Ibrahim,
Please note that full stops and commas should always be followed by a space, and every sentence should start with a capital letter. Don't use i instead of I.

. Hello, Asmaa. Unfortunately. there are no 'simple rules' for speaking English, and all of the written vowels (i,u,e,y, etc) have a variety of pronunciations within words. Try using the on-line Merriam-Webster dictionary, which offers audio MP3s for many words. _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Dear Asmaa, I have a website that might also be able to help you. As Mr. Micawber said, there is not 1 sound for each written letter in English, there can be many pronunciations of a letter or letter group. I have attempted to capture this on a American English Sound Chart page.
As for the sounds themselves, my American accent training website has a sample video and a how-to video for each sound to help you understand how to make it. You can also email me pronunciation questions (my email address is on the site).
Good Luck!! Rachel |
