Actually the subject is my question. I found a few messages that are clearly spam. What is the reporting mechanism?

Another question. I placed a signature in my profile and marked the radio button "Always show my signature," yes, but the signature still does not come up. What should I do?

Please report them here - Spam clean-up list.

I had that signature issue in the past, but it appeared when I posted my 101st message Smile

Dear Milanya,

First at all, many thanks for your very useful explanations! We have defined an edge for the show of signatures in the postings. A limit is 100 messages.
After you 101 forum messages your signature will show in all your postings.

Best regards
Slava

Thank you, Slava,
Your "100 messages" is much more specific and clear than "a certain number of messages" in Torsten's post. As for my explanations, I do not like guessing games and prefer aswering questions that provide sufficient context. By the amount of context provided I can always see how much an asker needs or wants a correct answer.

Do you not think that this topic ought to be pasted at the top so people reporting spam would not have to search for it?

Hello Milanya!
Every day we have a lot of spam-messages on the forum. But only admins (I and Torsten) have a permission to delete a spammer's account.
You, Charles, Gray and other users inform us about new spammers. If they write a new posting in a thread, move this thread automatic on the top of the thread-list. (sort by date)

This is given. It goes without saying.

And if no spam is reported in a while the thread goes down and becomes hard to find. Is it not easier just to paste it at the top instead of bumping it up every now and then? The top position also makes it easier to spot.

Actually, what would be easiest, and most effective, would be a, "This is spam!" button on each post. It would not have any immediate, automatic effect, except perhaps to temporarily block a given account, (or force human moderation of their posts), if enough people all voted with the button. Again, people should be assured that others can't simply delete their messages at will, but a notification button will go far to address the issue.

Perhaps all new accounts should force human moderation for a certain initial period, as well?
