Hi,

is it both correct to say:

"Do you know the Limestreet?

Or is it better to say: "Do you know Limestreet?

Thanks, Goody

"Do you know Lime Street ?" Is the best form.

Better still is, " Could you please tell me the way to Lime Street ? "

Thanks Kitosdad,

This is a question in my translation.
In Germany we would say "the" Kirchenstr. etc. I haven't seen this in English anywhere.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant you will never find a " the " before a street name in England.

ps. I am living in ESSEN - NRW.

Essen is not so far away from where I was born. It's a lovely small town at the Niederrhein Smile (God, my English is really rosted)

So the whole translation would be:

"Do you know Limeplatz? At the establishment of Munich this historic square was already existent within the first city wall."

What do you think?
