Stake vs. share? - minority stake

OK; here is my last question for today: What is the difference between share and stake? I mean why is minority stake and not minority share? After all, you own a part of the company, you have a share in the company. When do we use stake and when share? Thanks a ton!

They are similar, but share in investment parlance has a specific meaning-- one of thousands of certificates of capital stock of a corporation, sold on the stock market. Therefore, the writer would be wise to avoid share here in its broader sense, to prevent potential confusion.
