What type of graduate program? If you're going for Engineering or Mathematics or something along that line, you might stand a chance, but 400 is really low for verbal, as I'm sure you know. Have you also taken the TEOFL? Many graduate programs might give you a conditional acceptance and place you into an English language learning program for a year to improve your English skills before allowing you to attend normal classes. At least that was how it worked at a number of universities that I taught at in the United States.

Guys/Gals, I need some urgent advice on my marks. I got a 740 on both the quant and verbal and 6.0 on the analytics. I was very happy with this until I got my percentile breakdown. On the quant I got a meagre 78%. Is it worth still applying to grad school (for an MSc in Finance) with this or should I retake the test? (I got a 99% on the verbal and 96% on the writing). But from what I hear the quant is the most important. how important is PERCENTILES ? Any help at all would be MUCH appreciated! |

78% is not fantastic, but certainly not bad. Admission directors will review your entire academic background, and this score is just one area they will examine. If you have done well in math related classes in undergraduate, you should be fine. If you were a liberal arts major in undergraduate, it will be more difficult, but not impossible.
The best thing to do is ask the admissions departments of the schools you are interested in attending, or check out their web sites.
Good luck!
