Hi, Why in this case wander does not come with the preposition "about"?

Hi Elga,
"Wander" itself means to move about aimlessly and it does not necessarily need the preposition "about' since the meaning of the preposition is in the very verb. So, you can use WANDER/ WANDER ABOUT without change in meaning.
