Why we use 'take a nap' in the sentense?

Why we use 'take a nap' in the sentense

My neighbor likes to take a nap every day after lunch.

but use 'slumber' in this case. To my mind, the husband and neighbour do the same. What's the difference?

Hi,

In the sentence you will see that the man only takes a few minutes to rest in the armchair. Slumber is used for a long relaxed sleep.
