Hi Stone,

You asked:

What is the difference between " announcement"

An announcement is usually spoken and here in the sentence it is made through a loudspeaker. A statement is usually something that is written. It may be read out aloud but it is something that has been prepared in advance. We use the word announcer to describe someone who reads the news on radio, for example.
