Subject test for the GRE® general exam

I am new to the concept of GRE...basically i am a software engineer...can ne one please gimme proper info abt the fact that whether subject test is reqd for GRE...is it compulsory

The GRE general test is required for most grad schools, but not always the subject test. Are you going for a computer science degree? Some ask for the GRE CS test, but I'd check on that first. You will have to take the regular GRE.

It's not too bad...just get some good books and study. Cracking the GRE, Big Book (official book) are good to start. Also Powerprep, free tests from gre.org.
