PREPOSITION "IN"--METAPHORICAL SENSE

Hi! how is it going? Here it goes my question:

"My heart lives IN yours"

1.- I suppose I can use this sentence in
metaphorical sense to mean
"my heart is in someone?s heart". Can I?.


2.- Is it well-used the preposition "IN"
or shoud I used another one?

The sentence and the preposition themselves do not bother me, Jesus, but I have some trouble actually understanding the meaning clearly. It seems to mean that the speaker is dead, but his/her dreams/spirit lives on in another's memory/spirit. Is that what you intend?
