Description of recluse (noun)
person who lives secluded; loner; hermit

Description of parsimony (noun)
extreme frugality; miserliness; stinginess

Samples of parsimony
The parsimony of the wealthy woman was uncalled for.



   
Description of antagonism (noun)
hostility; opposition; conflict

Samples of antagonism
The antagonism was created by a misunderstanding.
The rebellious clan captured a hostage to display antagonism to the new peace treaty.



   
Description of charlatan (noun)
person who pretends to have knowledge; impostor; fake; quack; fraud

Samples of charlatan
The charlatan deceived the townspeople.
It was finally discovered that the charlatan sitting on the throne was not the real king.



   
Description of temerity (noun)
foolhardiness; impetuosity; rashness; boldness

Not for nothing do they call Yankee Stadium "The House that Ruth Built"-the Babe was a phenomenon.
The northern lights are a rare phenomenon for those not living near the Arctic Circle.
